The Project are holding a fundraising car wash on Saturday 30 July from 11 am to 1 pm at the Stables, Bucksburn (behind Newhills Manse). Refreshments will be served while you wait for your car to be cleaned.
Please come along and support the invaluable work of the Project.
We are delighted to have been awarded £500 from Asda at the Beach, having saved the biggest amount of green tokens from July-September 2019. Well done everyone – and thank you for popping them in The Living Well Cafe slot. Great effort! But no slacking – we’re on the Asda board at Bridge of Don until December 2019 ……….. so keeeeeeep saving!
Come along and help support The Living Well Project at Newhills on Saturday 28 September, 10-12 noon. There will be lots on offer – good company, a fine cuppa, a bite to eat and lots more besides. You’ll be made most welcome. Tickets available on the door, £2/adult, £0.50/child.
What a star Helen is – she completed the Baker Hughes 10K on Sunday 5 May and raised over £1,000 for the Living Well Cafe. Despite the wind in her face heading towards the Bridge of Don, and a sore leg until she reached the 9K mark when it suddenly disappeared (the pain, not her leg!) she completed the course in a very respectable 1 hour six minutes and 51 seconds. Good on ya, Helen!
Thanks to John Lewis for selecting the Living Well Project to take part in their Community Matters initiative. We were delighted to receive a cheque for £1260 and thanks to everyone for popping their token in the right slot!
Well done to Jack, Finlay & Sajan of Portlethen Academy who won £3000 for the Living Well Project. They came through as worthy winners of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative. They were against five other groups and the competition was tough but the boys’ presentation was amazing and wowed the judges!
A big thank you to all who came along to our AGM on Monday. It was a great night with lots of really positive stories from both the cafes and befriending service.
We were delighted that staff from TSB Bucksburn came along to present us with a cheque for £433.40. Thanks to Nicola and her team for all their hard work fundraising for us over the last year.
Please join us for our Annual General Meeting on Monday 28th January at Newhills Church at 7pm.
Reports will be given on the work of both the Befriending Service and the Cafés, along with an overview of where we have come in the past year as a Project and where we would hope to be travelling.
There will also be a Financial Report to indicate the condition of funding.
This is an open meeting so you would be very welcome.
Thank you to Nicola Stoddart and the team at TSB Bucksburn for holding an open day for their chosen charities. We had a great day speaking to people in the branch and spreading the word about the Living Well Project.
They also have a Christmas raffle on the go to raise funds for us over the festive season so watch this space for news of a donation in January.
We are delighted to be chosen as one of the John Lewis charities through their Community Matters scheme. The Living Well Project is one of three local causes that will benefit from a share of £3000.
So next time you’re having your fly cup in John Lewis be sure to ask for a token and look out for the Community Matters box and pop your token in our slot.
It’s situated beside the cafe on the top floor.
